NCHRP 07-20 Guidance for Implementation of TIM Performance Measurement provides guidance on the consistent use and application of TIM performance measures in support of the overall efforts of TIM program assessment.

This NCHRP report identified over 70 CAV projects across the Untied States. In a survey of a subset of these projects, responses were rather incomplete on topics including data management, data openness, data sensitivity, and data retention. Interviews were conducted with 11 state and local transportation agencies and a stakeholder workshop was conducted with 15 state and local agencies.

Provides guidance for the development and management of effective Enterprise Information Portals (EIPs) at state departments of transportation. EIPs have become key tools for transportation agencies as they make available information about the transportation system and the agency’s activities. Such EIPs must be curated; that is, there are people responsible for establishing the portal architecture, ensuring the quality of information and data, and maintaining the reliability of access.

NCHRP Research Report 904 provides guidelines for states on leveraging a big data approach, including collecting and storing more (and raw) data, opening and sharing data, breaking down data silos via a common data storage environment, and maintaining data accessibility, amongst others.

This guidebook for state DOTs contains over 100 recommendations for managing data from emerging technologies, such as crowdsourcing, in a modern way. It also contains a roadmap for implementing the guidance, as well as several tools including a modern data management capability maturity self-assessment. This guidebook is a good resource for agencies grappling with how to manage new, large datasets, including crowdsource data.

Privacy Guide for Cities is a 14-page guide, developed by the Open Mobility Foundation, to aid cities in developing policies and procedures for managing sensitive mobility data, particularly data collected using the Mobility Data Specification (MDS).
