NCHRP Research Report 904 provides guidelines for states on leveraging a big data approach, including collecting and storing more (and raw) data, opening and sharing data, breaking down data silos via a common data storage environment, and maintaining data accessibility, amongst others. Applying a big data management approach to TIM can lead to better insights, operations, and decision making. 1
